Center Channel Speaker – New Aperion Center Channel Speaker Stands Up and Sings

The 522D-VAC makes clever use of centrally located, vertically arrayed tweeter and 4 inch midrange drivers to overcome the lack of dispersion typical of center channel speakers.

We engineered the 522D-VAC to expand the center channel’s optimal listening zone horizontally across the listening area, explains Aperion’s Acoustical Engineer Ken Humphreys. A midrange driver unburdens the woofers of the troublesome frequencies on the low end. Then, competing higher frequencies are redirected vertically where listeners are less likely to encounter them.

The 522D-VAC components include a 5.25 inch midrange woofer, a 4 inch midrange and 1 inch ferrofluid-filled dome tweeter—all magnetically shielded. Recommended power from 50 to 200 watts; frequency response, 80hz to 18Khz; nominal speaker impedance, 6-8 ohms.
